Take a look at the photo on the right. What may look like an infestation of ants is actually 8,900 people in Bismarck, ND, working hard to break the Guinness Book's record for snow angels.
Once the record is verified, the old record holder (Michigan) will have to boost their next attempt by more than 5,000 people.
It takes some good old-fashioned marketing and word-of-mouth viral energy to get this many people to brave the cold and snow in order to participate. From infants (who made snow angels by being spun around in their car seats) to oldsters (a 99 year-old grandmother, making her first angel), the turnout was infectious. I'd love to know what they did to spread the word... and the excitement... and the joy.
