Okay, it's black, but this is pretty groovy:

I felt compelled to look - how could this be? But, alas, it's true. Most of the bags for 17" are really lame. Good luck.

Oh my lord, you're right! I also felt compelled to look...what's a woman without a hip way to carry her laptop? But you're right, the 17-inchers are pretty bad. I found one that might work: http://www.seejanework.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=16&idproduct=454

Ebags.com is handy because you can search for all bags that fit your specific notebook. Once you're at the site, click on business & laptops/laptop cases/fits 17" screen.

Two that might work at ebags.com:

Thanks, everyone, for the options! Of course, I'm particularly taken with the one that costs upwards of $400... guess I have good taste.

You guys are the best...

In silicon valley the must have bag is a timbuk2, especially if you are a mac person.
If people see you with the bag you get instant street cred.
You can build your own with your choice of colors and stuff on their site. Made in the USA too.

Try plasticpeople.com, Michele. Shannon South custom made a light blue vinyl with orange heart laptop bag for me - and I love it. It isn't high-tech, so I bought a padded Mac sleeve as extra protection for my iBook.

It's girly and unique, because she will make you whatever size you need using her cool retro fabrics. (and I think she can do you right for less than $400).

I asked the similar question, when I switched to the Mac. I was just looking for a good bag.

I think you have most of these listed, but you can check all the suggestions people gave me:

I think Acme Made and WaterField each make some nice products. Take a look:

I have a 17" Dell and I had the exact same problem. Try Shaun Jackson Design--I got the BIG backoffice and it's absolutely the best! Not too pretty but super functional.

Well, good luck to your adventurous saga. Well, I like your blog, it gives women empowerment of voicing out their opinions. This is a business blog with a touch of femininity. I guess it is time for men to know that women have also some nice things to say. =)

I know this is an old post; but I got a great looking laptop bag for my 17" Dell from Wrapables.com ( http://www.wrapables.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=C55894&cate3=060211 ) . I'm very impressed with the quality and it was under $100. Best of luck to you!
