Revlon announced today that it has signed Academy Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon to be its newest spokesmodel. The 58 year-old beauty joins Revlon's group of "extraordinary women," which also includes Halle Berry and Julianne Moore.
"Susan Sarandon is perfect for the Revlon brand. Her beauty and talent have broad appeal," states Stephanie Klein Peponis, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. "We are thrilled to be working with her."
They should be. Revlon obviously has their finger on the pulse (and nose in the pocketbook) of boomer women. According to a 2002 survey by Roper ASW:
86% of Baby Boomer women believe the way you look affects the way you feel
62% of Baby Boomer women follow a skin care routine daily
51% of Boomer women say discount stores are their channel of choice when buying skin care products and cosmetics
50% of Boomer women say they have used, or would consider using, skin products for wrinkles to keep looking younger
There's a whole lotta moola out there just waiting to be spent on dynamic, active Boomer lifestyles. The latest known statistic is that Boomer women control $7 trillion in U.S. wealth.

I love marketing! And I hate it! The Susan Sarandon move is genius. She's no Julianne Moore, or Halle Berry, but she will be associated mentally with them and their beauty by the women who identify with her. Genius! :)

I kept staying at home and shopping online during Christmas.
I had ordered many gifts for my friends, include Cosmetics & Perfume, Discount Cosmetics, magazines. I really like this magazine website.
